A free Elementor contact form that sends email

Elementor's Form widget needs Elementor Pro. On free Elementor, paste a Nisuform form into the HTML widget and every submission is saved and emailed to you, with no SMTP plugin.

Free for 100 submissions a month, no credit card. Updated

Free Elementor has no Form widget. Forms are part of Elementor Pro, and the usual free alternative, a form plugin placed with the Shortcode widget, still sends its email through your web host.

The free HTML widget is enough for a contact form. Paste a Nisuform embed into it and the form posts to Nisuform, which saves each submission, filters spam and emails you. WordPress never sends the email, so there's no SMTP plugin to set up.

If you pay for Pro and its emails arrive, keep using it. This is for free Elementor sites, and for Pro forms whose emails go missing.

Add the form

  1. Create and style the form

Create a contact form in Nisuform. In the form builder, add your fields and pick a theme and accent color that match your Elementor kit, then save.

  2. Copy the embed code

On the form's Setup tab, choose Site builder, then WordPress, then Copy the embed code.

  3. Add an HTML widget

In the Elementor editor, search the widget panel for HTML, drag it to where the form goes and paste the code into HTML Code. Click Publish or Update.

  4. Send a test

Open the live page, wait two seconds and send. The message should be in your Nisuform inbox and your email within seconds.

Why Elementor Pro forms stop sending email

Elementor Pro's Email action calls wp_mail(), which uses PHP mail() on your host unless an SMTP plugin replaces it. Hosts often limit PHP mail, and email from a server your SPF and DKIM records don't cover goes to spam. This is the usual reason an Elementor form stops sending email.

An SMTP plugin with a transactional mail provider fixes the sending. A Nisuform form in the HTML widget takes WordPress out of the path. The submission goes to Nisuform, and Nisuform's mail service sends the notification.

Matching your design

The styled embed takes its theme and accent color from the form builder. The colors are CSS variables at the top of the embed's style block, so you can adjust them later without going back to the dashboard.

If you'd rather your theme do the styling, switch to Your own styles on the Setup tab. You get plain markup with your field names, and your theme and Elementor's global styles apply to the inputs and the button. On mobile, set the widget's container to full width so the fields have room.

Spam

Each submission goes through a honeypot, a fill-time check, rate limits, and link and duplicate checks, without a CAPTCHA. Spam goes to its own folder and doesn't count toward your limit. If spam still gets through, turn on Cloudflare Turnstile and add your domain to the form's allowed websites.

The WordPress page covers the block editor, Divi and Beaver Builder.

What you get with Nisuform

Free covers 100 submissions a month across 3 forms. Pro is $10 a month for 5,000 submissions and adds the features marked Pro.

  • Spam filtering on every plan

You get an email within seconds of each submission. Reply-to is set to the visitor, so you can answer from your mail app.

  • Every submission kept

  • File uploadsPro

Up to 5 images or PDFs per submission, stored privately and shared through links that expire.

Send each submission to Slack, Discord, Telegram or Google Sheets, or anywhere else with signed webhooks, Zapier or Make.

Elementor guides

Frequently asked questions

Does free Elementor have a contact form?

No. The Form widget is part of Elementor Pro. On free Elementor you can paste a form into the HTML widget, or install a separate form plugin and place it with the Shortcode widget.

Why is my Elementor form not sending email?

Elementor Pro's Email action sends through wp_mail, like other WordPress form tools, and wp_mail uses your host's PHP mail unless an SMTP plugin replaces it. Hosts often limit it, and the email lands in spam or never arrives. Install an SMTP plugin with an authenticated mail service, or post the form to a form backend that sends the email for you.

Can I use it inside an Elementor popup?

Yes. Put the HTML widget with the embed code inside the popup template.

Will the form match my Elementor design?

Pick a theme and accent color in the Nisuform form builder before you copy the embed code. Or use the plain markup version, and your theme's styles apply to the fields and the button.

Where do I see the submissions?

In your Nisuform inbox, where you can search, star and export them to CSV. Each one is also emailed to you within seconds.
