# A custom HTML contact form for Wix

Where Wix form emails go, why they go missing, and how to add a custom HTML contact form to Wix that filters spam, saves every submission and emails you.

Wix Forms saves each submission under **Forms & Submissions** in your dashboard, and a Wix Automation emails your account address when one comes in. Most "Wix contact form not sending email" problems come down to that email:

1. **Spam.** Notifications come from `notifications@wix-forms.com`. Look in your spam or junk folder and mark them as safe.
2. **Recipients.** The form's notification automation decides who gets the email. If someone edited it, the site owner is only notified again once their address is back in the **Send an email** action.
3. **The account email.** Notifications go to the address on your Wix account. If that's an old inbox, change it there or add a recipient to the automation.

If the built-in form does what you need once the email arrives, keep it.

## When a custom form is worth it

A Nisuform form goes on your Wix page in an **Embed HTML** element. It is useful when the form has to work outside Wix too. You can reuse the same form on a landing page hosted elsewhere and keep every submission in one inbox. On Pro, submissions can go to Slack, Discord, Telegram, Google Sheets or a signed webhook. You can also turn on Cloudflare Turnstile, restrict the form to your domains, and send notifications to any address.

## Add it to Wix

### Design the form

[Create a form](https://app.nisuform.com) in Nisuform. Add your fields in the form builder, pick a theme and accent color, and save.

### Copy the embed code

On the form's **Setup** tab, choose **Site builder**, then **Wix**, then **Copy the embed code**.

### Add an Embed HTML element

In the Wix editor, open **Add Elements**, choose **Embed Code**, then **Embed HTML**. Choose **Code**, paste the embed and click **Update**.

### Size the box and publish

Wix shows embeds in a fixed-size box. Drag its edges until the whole form fits, including the success message that appears after a submit. Check the mobile layout too, then publish and send a test.



## Allowed websites on Wix

Wix runs embedded HTML in a frame served from a Wix address, so the request your form sends may not come from your own domain. If you turn on [allowed websites](/docs/protection/access-rules) and a test from the live site fails with `origin_not_allowed`, open your browser's Network tab, find the request to `api.nisuform.com` and add the address in its `Origin` header to the list.

## Spam

Every submission goes through a honeypot, a fill-time check, rate limits, and link and duplicate checks. Spam goes to its own folder, doesn't notify you and doesn't count toward your limit. ### Where do Wix form submissions go?

Wix Forms saves them under Forms & Submissions in your site's dashboard, and Wix Automations emails a notification to your account email by default. A Nisuform form saves submissions to your Nisuform inbox and emails you from there.
