# Plans and billing

Compare the Free and Pro plans, see how submissions are counted each month, and upgrade, change or cancel a plan.

Nisuform has two plans. Plans are per team, so each team has its own plan, its own monthly usage and its own subscription.

## How submissions are counted

* Usage is counted per team, across all of its forms.
* It resets at the start of each calendar month, in UTC.
* Only accepted submissions count. Spam, bots, blocked senders, rejected submissions and test submissions from the dashboard don't.
* Deleting submissions doesn't give usage back.

The **Dashboard** and **Team settings** show how much of this month's usage the team has used.

## Near the limit

When a team reaches 95% of its monthly submissions, successful JSON responses include `"warning": "near_limit"`. See [Responses](/docs/connect/javascript#responses).

## Over the limit

When a team reaches its limit, new submissions are rejected with `402` and `quota_exceeded` until the next month starts. Nothing is lost silently: visitors see that the form couldn't accept their submission, and your code gets the error.

On the first of each month, Free teams that turned submissions away get an email with how many they missed. Pro teams get a small buffer above 5,000, so a busy day doesn't cut a form off right at the limit.

## Upgrade

Only the team's owner can upgrade. Choose **Upgrade to Pro** in **Team settings** or anywhere the dashboard offers it, and pay with the secure checkout. Payments are handled by [Polar](https://polar.sh), our merchant of record, which takes care of invoices and sales tax.

Pro features turn on as soon as the payment goes through. If the dashboard still shows Free after a minute, reload the page.

## Manage or cancel

In **Team settings**, **Plan & usage**, the owner can open the billing portal to update the payment method, download invoices, and change or cancel the subscription.

When you cancel, the team keeps Pro until the end of the period you paid for, then moves to Free.

## What happens on the Free plan

When a team moves from Pro to Free, nothing is deleted. Your forms, submissions, integrations and settings are kept, and Pro features stop applying:

* Forms above the Free limit keep working. You just can't create new forms until the team is under the limit.
* Integrations and auto-replies pause.
* Notifications go to the owner's account email with the default sender name.
* File uploads are skipped, and visitors see the default thank-you and closed pages.
* The monthly limit goes back to 100.

Upgrading again brings everything back as it was.

## Deleting a team or account

Deleting a Pro team, or an account that owns one, cancels the subscription right away. You won't be charged again, and the rest of the current period isn't refunded.
